no start
the truck will only start if i ground the computer with a wire is this common in this swap

You fried the ground connection internal to the ecu/wiring. This isn't the first time its happend, actually there is a thread from a few days back about the same issue. Its not really common, but its not really THAT rare.
You can hook the wire up to the case and use that as the ground. It should work fine, but there may or may not be other problems with the ecu or wiring that you'll run into in the future, if you don't know what caused the ground to burn out in the first place.

i was thinking something along those lines we ran a ground to case and it works but your right need to find out what happened

I was the other guy from a few days ago... I also ran a wire to the case for now... hoping to find someone who has had the same issue and figured it out!

ok just could not leave it alone tell i figured it out the ground on the back of the head was not make a good ground cleaned head and bolt works perfect thanks for all the help\
