Here is my 62. My grandfather was the original owner. He owned a body shop and this was his every day driver til he passed away couple years back. He left the truck to me knowing I always loved it. There is some updating and restoration that needs to be done to the bed and motor, but everything else is still great. I will be leaving it all original as he did. Only thing he touched was this paint job he did in the 80’s and he put a 350 SB in it out of a 70 flat bed.

Everyone has awesome trucks on this form and I’m glad I found somewhere I can find help when needed!

Welcome to the forum

That is very cool that your Grandfather gave you his truck. That makes it just that more special. I'm looking forward to seeing what updates you make.

Re: New Member

Having bought our 66 last weekend (thread in projects section) i see a truck I would rsther have on my drive.

That is absolutely lovely.

Please do post as many pics as you want (we always want more) of detail and all sides.

As mentioned, you are very fortunate and your grandpa was fortunate you had an interest. Would be sad if the truck had just gone the way of so many other estate trucks.

Well done and welcome.

Nice truck!
I see 2 round things . . . . ummmmm . . . (actually I don't know what to call them - maybe anchor points?) on the side of the bed. Is that what they are? Are they factory? I've just not seen those before.

Re: New Member

Lugnutz65, they are tie down anchor points.
They are the older kind that turn outwards. They were not factory, my grandpa used this as his shop truck so he added those years ago along with plywood over the bed rails so they could just throw parts back there. I will post more pictures of the truck later on today.

Thanks for liking it everyone I know my grandpa would appreciate it.

Re: New Member

Took some pictures after doing the weekend yard work to keep the wife happy.

My grandpa had a 2 barrel in it. After cleaning out his home shop, which you wouldn't believe the old body work tools from the 60's that were in there, I found a few 4 barrels. So I'm getting a new intake manifold and putting a 4 barrel on this weekend.

It also sprung a leak recently but haven't had a chance to look at it. Will be addressing that this weekend as well.

Keeping this truck for ever as well, These new school trucks look like some robot **** I wont mess with.
