Re: WTB: 1963 283 engine
Wish you were somewhere here on the east coast. Let me know if you decide to sell the engine separately. Although even then the shipping cost from WA state might be prohibitive...

Re: WTB: 1963 283 engine
I just shipped a 283 to Carslyle PA and it was 350 by a privateer. I would think VA would be 500 min.

Re: WTB: 1963 283 engine
I have a complete 283 still in the truck but it's a 1962, I can check the numbers if you are interested. It's complete pan to oil bath air cleaner.

Re: WTB: 1963 283 engine
I have a bunch of 283's and you could pay me to deliver it to you so I can visit some of my family, I was born and raised in DC..
Tell me exactly where this M is, I should know but drawing a black. I have several 283 short blocks and i have a really nice rebuilt 283 long block that i was told was a 63 but it was in a 57 , drove nice, really clean and i was going to use it in one of my 63-66 projects but i have other engines and don't need to match any 283 to truck. I have a 66 burb that everything matches but the rest aren't that rare. Send me a pix or a good description, was going to head up to DC spet 6th or so for my birthday so this might work for both of us, if i have a match Thanks, Steve, PM me or email me SCJKOVACH@AOL.COm, I tend to forget |

Re: WTB: 1963 283 engine
got thru half the pile, close on the date codes, work able , but no M. A few more to go. It might end up being a block and crank from my core pile. As I remember all of them were standard bore and the cranks spun, standard bore means never been rebuilt but would need to be bored and honed to 30 over. Cranks spinning meant no align boring and no visual defects other wise I wouldn't wast the space.
I have an Dr appointment at 1 so it will be tomorrow. Thanks, Steve Pm me a email, so I can send some pix.............. |
