1966 C20 Custom Cab
Here is what my add looks like. What do you guys think for price? I will get some more pics up later.
I have a very nice 1966 Chevy C-20 Custom Camper. I have put a lot into this truck but am thinking about going with something different. It has a 292 straight six with a 700r4. The good: Starts first time every time. I had a freshly rebuilt 700r4 installed by a professional shop, this included a custom driveline. Less than one year old. It has a Clifford performance manifold, long tube headers and new exhaust with a 4-barrel Holley all less than a year old. New battery, alternator, starter, voltage regulator and distributor less than 3 months old. Most wiring new including under dash main wiring harness, engine harness, heater harness, fuel unit, etc, etc. Four Brand new tires, less then 100 miles. New plugs and plug wires, dome light. Upgraded to a full gauge dash from the one with dummy lights. Also new water pump, fan clutch, fan, fuel sender unit. All hoses, belt , lifter and valve cover gaskets replaced. At least half a dozen things I have forgotten. The Bad: The windshield leaks and it has some rust in the floorboards, and A pillars. It is easily repairable but if you don't understand or are afraid of rust don't bother looking. The best news is you can see all of it. The old carpet is gone and it is bare floorboards. I think that's about it. It would make an awesome and beautiful work truck. You can jump in and drive it home. Last edited by DoubleL; 07-06-2013 at 05:40 PM. |

I'd spend the money and get it running right. While your at it, look for a 14bolt rear and price getting that put in. I'd say as it sits your around $2500. But if you got the timing/carb issue resolved your closer to $3500. A c20 isn't as desirable as a c10, but if you were near me, I'd jump on it.

i'd say that 3500-5500 is pretty good. The paint and everything looks clean, but no two tone or side trim or options, and like he said the c10s are more popular. It's not so clean that it's a great restored example, but it's no where near beat and weathered enough to appeal to the patina or rat rod crowd. I'm not being mean, but it seems to lack....personality. When i was shopping for a truck, the options that came to the top seemed to jump out at me. For some guys it's the patina, for me it's the two tone in some of the classic colors, for others it's a nifty v8 conversion and some billet or chrome and different gauges, etc. You just have to find the guy that want's a low option, clean, one color c20, and he'll pay the high end of what you're asking.
FWIW i'm usually a pricing pessimist, and have little pricing experience.

Im not sure why so many get weird when it comes to the c20. Most change the suspension anyway. I like and have 1 of each.
