Advance Auto for carb kit?
Is Advance Auto a good place to order a carb rebuild kit? Single barrel "Monojet" (dad put this on and no idea where the original Rochester went).

I got the GP Sorenson kit from there, and it worked well.
Just make sure it gets put together the right way

Re: Advance Auto for carb kit?
It's not that bad. The only thing that was remotely a pain was to get the carb body and throttle body together with the linkage right. Definitely felt like an idiot at that point.
Take it apart slowly, and take pictures if you need to. Don't be alarmed if you end up with extra parts with that kit

Re: Advance Auto for carb kit?
10/4 on taking pics. There's not much too these carbs and if you take your time, look at some rebuild videos on youtube or ask questions here, we can help. I've got a few pics of mine if you're not able to take good pics.
Just remember, if you're going to own these old trucks for any length of time, you're going to have to dive into them sooner or later so you may as well go for it.

Re: Advance Auto for carb kit?
I had about half the kit left when I was done. They package the kit to work with several variations of carb and some parts don't get used in some carbs. The instructions were pretty clear.Make sure you have some carb cleaner.
