E4ME Quadrajet Desirability
I was cleaning out my garage when I came across my old E4ME Quad and ECM. I have no use for them anymore, but it seems like a waste to toss 'em in the trash.
I know TBI is a popular swap (in the middle of one now), but does anyone bother to retrofit the E4ME carbs? Is there any market where these carbs are desirable? Found a few listed on eBay. Should I spend the time listing my carb and ECM as a package on eBay, or just junk them both? |

Go fishing... You never know who may want it as a package. I had a MSD BTM, paid $40, sold it for a nice profit simply because of the listing pictures and good condition.

In my opinion they're all junk. You could always post it on CL or ebay and see if some sucker wants it.

I knew someone would respond with the "if you don't know what you're doing" comment.... They're junk, there are MUCH better carbs out there without all of the hassle. And I know what I'm doing... Quote:

Thought I was in The Car Lounge for a sec.
JET Performance still does E4ME rebuilds. You might contact them and ask if they could use a good core. |

Re: E4ME Quadrajet Desirability
Yeah, 10-4. I was just curious. Didn't know if they were desired by some small segment of the population. I'm gonna eBay it and see what happens.

Re: E4ME Quadrajet Desirability
Careful, Buddy. We're entering dangerous territory, seeing as how I'm not a "supporting member". Those kind of questions could be construed as "WIW" or "FS". I don't need the Mods all whipped up into a frenzy over this.
Seeing as how I'm "NOT TRYING TO SELL IT ON THIS BOARD" or "TRYING TO ASSESS A VALUE ON THIS BOARD", I'll assume the question was just a casual inquiry to my thoughts on a starting price on eBay and answer accordingly... --- I don't know. Seen 'em going anywhere from $200-$300+ for rebuilt units, but take offs in good condition all seem to be starting in the $50-$60. Figure I'll start there and include the ECM. It's a decent working carb. I don't see any sense in trashing it. |

Re: E4ME Quadrajet Desirability
Didn't call you an idiot....just said there are many available to buy it. If I remember correctly, you brought up CA and it's weather loving suckers....not sure why you mentioned the weather anyway...except maybe my extremely bleak looking avatar pic.
