Rear seat on wheel wells?

Looking at mounting options for a non factory rear seat. I'd like to have has much floor space as possible for gun cases and other large items. Do you think the wheel arches are capable of carrying the full weight of a bench rear seat? I'm envisioning fabbing something where the bench is bolted to supports just on the wheel well, leaving the full floor space under the seat open, with no "legs" support system in the way. Obviously some plate would have to be welded in where the seat is bolted to the arch, but would the rest of the arch be strong enough to support the seat and passengers?

Where are you going to mount the seat belts?
