Another wiper motor question

Guys,
I'm going to upgrade the wiper motor on my 65' from a single speed to a two speed and have a question about it. When I look up a 2-speed wiper motor, they list both a 3-terminal and a 4-terminal setup. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these (besides the obvious) and if either will work with what I'm doing?
Thanks in advance!!

Just guessing, but might the extra wire be for a washer option?

Re: Another wiper motor question

I've never seen a 2 speed without a washer, but I believe the 2 speed with a washer, has 4 terminals. I'll take a look at the shop tomorrow.

Re: Another wiper motor question

Thanks for the replies! The washer function may explain the difference in the number of terminals. I can say that I didn't see any mention of a washer pump with any of the listings for 2-speed motors, so I'm not sure.

Re: Another wiper motor question

The washer system is a bolt on option to the motor. The 63 Assembly book shows how to add the washer to a standard 2 speed motor. I also have two 2 speed motors, one is 3 and one is 4 plug. Both are 63 motors by the dates.

Re: Another wiper motor question

Thanks for the reply! So, apparently, either terminal configuration could have been used with a washer pump. I'm starting to wonder if it even matters which motor I order, since I'll be adding the correct wiring and switch for the 2-speed setup anyway. I really want to leave open the option of adding the washer pump, though.
