need help with stock wheels
got a chance to buy some wheels. owner says they are 67-70. they look the same as the early wheels to me. can I run 64-66 style hub caps with these? owner wants $125 for 4 stock wheels. is that a reasonable price?
is there a thread somewhere that makes sense of all the different 6lug wheels and hub caps and what will work with what?? my dream set would be 15x7 front and 15x8 rears that I could put the stock '64 hub caps on. here are the wheels I have a chance to buy |

Re: need help with stock wheels
If you look at the thread "hubcaps" it covers all the bases w/rims & hubcaps....factory at least. What you have pictured are the later style 6 lug steelies. They will accept factory hubcaps and trim rings and will clear disk brakes should you convert to them in the future. These rims will have 4 bumps as opposed to the earlier style steelies that have 3 bumps and will not clear disk brake calipers (without a lot of modification to the calipers from what I understand).
Good score and the price is fair. I have purchased 5 myself...got two for $40/pr and found another 3 for $40. But I have seen them around $40 each on average, so $125 sounds very fair to me.

Re: need help with stock wheels
not familiar with the 67-72 wheels, but those look like the wheels I pulled off a 77 suburban to put on my 65, the stock hubcaps did fit.
make sure your hubcaps are the "nub " type , split rims came with a clip style that would not work with that wheel..

Re: need help with stock wheels
They were used on 4x4's for some time after 72, I'm not sure when they quit using them. 2 of mine were off a 73 blazer 4x4, not sure about the other 3.

Those are 71-87 4x4 steel wheels.
Perfect for disc brake swaps. More info here on 6-lug wheels: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php?p=6151312
