Boost your trucks A/C in 20 minutes.

Replace your blower unit located on passenger side with one from a 95 silverado. Wow does it blow better! I get much more air from the vents now. 5 little bolts and a power wire.

Make sure you scrape off the paint for the ground. This thing was cheap too. Like 15 bucks.

Really that much better huh? What years will it fit? Would it fit a 77 3/4 ton? What's the part number?

I will check with the experts at Century Auto Air Conditioning and see if there are any others that will interchange.

Thanks for the tip.

Yes, please give us some part numbers! NAPA and/or Rockauto numbers would be most useful in my instance, or even just tell us more specifics about the 95 Silverado.

Same here. I want to do what a few threads here say to do as far as cleaning out my air ducts and all the vents and combined with a stronger blowing motor it should be awesome. I need to do this to my wife's 77 3/4 ton cause the air is cold, and sounds like its blowing real hard on high, but there's not alot of strong air coming out, like its only on medium. I'm sure being a 77 and never probably having the ducts and all cleaned out is the reason. People here who have cleaned there's out say there was a HECK of a difference in air flow afterwards.

Cool Re: Boost your trucks A/C in 20 minutes.

Could I get some updates from you guys regarding this fan change?

I am getting closer to removing and replacing mine.

I could really use the faster fan speed.

It's the same motor. Your old one was just wore out and shot.

I was going to ask what the difference really was. I was thinking that maybe the later model motors pulled more power or something.

Re: Boost your trucks A/C in 20 minutes.

Just curious, what is the difference between the two motors? Is it possible that you just had a weak original motor and an fresh new motor made the difference - both motors having the same specifications?

calls for the same GM part number 1580213 , What gives?????

Re: Boost your trucks A/C in 20 minutes.

Yeah the way the thread was written, i was under the assumption that there was a difference between the stock motor and the one made for a 95. They seemed like the same blower motor to me so i couldnt figure out what was so much better about the 95 either.

Somewhere on there, there are probably stamped or stickered specifications. Somebody needs to compare 'em

Re: Boost your trucks A/C in 20 minutes.

The fan out of my 1990 Suburban quit one day so I put in a fan out of junkyard 1999 Tahoe. To be honest, I notice no difference.

Yes, if you want more A/C output, ditch that r134a refrigerant and switch back to r12 or better yet r290. I've got my A/C set up to freeze you out even when it's 100 degrees out here in Southern Texas.
