motor wants to stay on
I have a 86 chevy k10 when I turn the truck off the motor acts like it wants to stay on, like it will turn over a few times after I turn the ignition off. is that the carb? it has a stock quadrajet on it and what size cfm is it to? thanks for the help.

I'm sure someone that has a lot more knowledge then I will jump in...but I would check the "anti-dieseling" solenoid on the carb if the truck has one, or the timing may be off slightly.

Its called dieseling...what rpm does you truck idle at? Could be too high

I'd start with timing. To far advanced will cause a diesel. Crappy gas and high compression will do that too and comes with a spark knock

Turn your idle down. If it idles too slow then just hook your vac advance to manifold vacuum to speed it back up.
