OBD 2 Codes

I am having an issue with my swap. When driving the vehicle, it shifts out fine until you get to fourth gear going into overdrive where the truck then begins to jerk constantly. This only happens going from fourth gear to overdrive. The code retrieved is P 0357, Malfunction/Ignition Coil G. Once this code pops up , the truck does seem to run a bit rough, almost like it is missing or misfiring.

FYI:

C12 is hook to the brake switch as it should

The 4L60E is newly rebuilt with new tourque converter( Actually this is second tranny because I had tranny builder go back through it because I thought it was a tranny issue)

Cylinders 5 and 7 both have new coil packs.

Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Possibly an issue with commanding lockup. Ignition and misfire codes will sometimes pop up if you have a decent sized cam in a swap with an auto. There is a misfire detection section on the ecm, that counts what it see's as misses. If your running a larger cam, it puts the crank and cam sensors out of phase every x number of rotations and throws a miss. They can raise the threshold in the tune just a bit, and it should ignore the bs misses and only detect a REAL miss (aka multiple misfires or repeated miss).

You'll get symptoms like going in and out of lockup constantly, bogging down on decel because it won't unlock, or random unlocking/bucking under even when there is no change in throttle position.

Those symtoms are exactly what Iam getting, but The 5.3 is completely stock with no cam.

When you did the swap, did you buy a stand alone harness or use the one that came with the engine?

Check the wiring to the coil on plug #7 and see if anything is loose. Start the truck, disconnect #7 and see if anything settles out (it will still misfire on 7 but a known constant misfire will feel different).

You can also put a meter on the signal-driver wire to the coil (iirc there are 2 wires to each coil, one signal and the other ground). If there is a SIGNIFICANT signal on the wire, then you are most likely shorted out somewhere else in that circuit.

What year harness & PCM? I bet money its wiring related.

Check for pushed out pins at the PCM plugs
