upgrading 64 c20 front with 86 one ton?

Just like the tittle said. Can I put an 86 c30 front (hole unit, hubs, rotors, control arms ext..) on my 64 c20? I know a 80s model c20 would work but will the one ton bolt in with some mods? Also will the steering work off that said 86 one ton? The 86 also has dully hubs and will that screw me up?

thanks
Brent

Re: upgrading 64 c20 front with 86 one ton?

As far as I know the complete '86 C30 front suspension will bolt up the same as the C10's do. And yes you will have to change the entire crossmember since you are working with a '63-'66 C20. The steering box will work as well with an adapter plate. It is the same as a C10 or C20 box. You will have to run the dually wheels with the dually hub/rotors. I can't say anything about tire to fender clearance, since I haven't got that far on my '66 C30. I don't think it will be a problem. If you don't want to run the dually wheels, you will have to change the hub/rotor.

that's what I thought and had looked at that link before also. Since its a step side long box I may make it a dually with a 4 BT in it. That would be interesting
