.....and the breakdowns/repairs begin (I LUV IT)
So I just got home from work and smelled the ole antifreeze in the cab trick creepin' up and sure enough, heater core leaking. Next, the master cylinder is leaking at the booster and to top it off the recently removed and re-installed thermostat housing is leaking around the mating surface even with the RTV and new gasket in place. So I think this weekend is gonna be fun and just like old times with a Chevy. For 40 yrs. old you got to expect some things ya know. Anyways I'll have my boy out there with me teaching him some good stuff.

Re: .....and the breakdowns/repairs begin (I LUV IT)
Yea I've had a couple others that I honed my skills on in the past. My first ride when I got my license was a 1973 Pontiac Ventura that I did a rebuild on and other stuff. Then I got a 80' GMC Jimmy from the Border Patrol and messed with it for a few years. I really enjoy these rigs and the challenges they present. I went to O' Reily's tonight and grabbed a new heater core and a thermostat housing so I can get started maybe tomorrow or Sunday.

also instead of normal paper gasket and rtv use the felpro thick blue gasket. seals a lot better and is reusable. felpro part number 2202
