LR4/4l60e in 87

I plan on taking the outdated 305 in my 1987. I plan on using dingo mounts. My main questions are:
What fuel pump should I use since I do have the 87 tanks?
Will I run into any problems running the OD with my gears being 3.08 on a 27" tall tire? I calculated it at 1878rpm running 70mph. Which I'll be mostly driving 55-60 when I actually drive it.

Also any part numbers would be great, especially on the fuel lines and parts. I'm not looking into building a performer, just a reliable truck that can take me anywhere and get decent fuel doing it!

I would use the Delco EP381 in each tank (I understand you have dual tanks, right?). If so, you will need a high pressure switching valve also.

Re: LR4/4l60e in 87

I have walbro pumps in my 87. It was a factory TBI truck. I rewired the dash switch to use a relay to switch pumps. The connector showed evidence of getting hot, no trouble since and I have 16k miles on the swap. I am running an 88 up rear end with 3.42 cogs and a 28.9 inch tall tire previously had a 26 inch tall tire and have not checked the mileage since changing rear tires. I would think that the 3.08 would be tallish in OD and probably would do better in drive til 65-70. Jay
