Re: WIW: Short Stepside Bed
I sold a near perfect one, all OE metal with the exception of a new out of the box tailgate. Professionally blasted and Epoxy primed with PPG DPLF - $650.
I dont mean it offensive in any way but they are kinda tough to sell. It's really a love / hate thing.. but there's a buyer out there. I just changed mine so I could run wider tires on a fleet bed. I still love the steppers though .. just sayin the beds are a tough sell in my experience.

Re: WIW: Short Stepside Bed
That about right $300.00 to $750.00 depending on the shape its in .If its got a wood floor ,that aways needs replacement .Just a added expense to the buyer , but I still love them

Re: WIW: Short Stepside Bed
Sold my first one "When i thought i wanted a fleet" with real nice fenders and tailgate,
needed new wood for $400.00 picked up. Nothing wrong with fleets mind you, I pull my bass boat with mine and it is just a lot less wet feet with a stepper in the cooler months.

Re: WIW: Short Stepside Bed
Stepsides are way cool and where it all began with the whole "Hot Truck" thing. It was all about the Stepside in the '69s & '70s. Most guys prefer Fleetsides because they're actually car guys who now like trucks (I like both). Ain't no mistaking a Stepside as anything but a truck...a traditional truck. I agree on the $300-$800 range. You really don't know the full extent of rust till you break them down. But,for a decent bed to scuff and paint, the risk is worth it in this range
