gm ls 416 or lsx 454 or???

hello

i am already planing and searching for te right parts for my bulit wich i will start next year, because i live in germany and had to check all the shipping methods and order a sea container to get all the stuff in to germany with only one shippment. so it is a lot of caling emailing and planing...

the engine question with what would you go? the gm ls 416 crate from edelbrock
or a texas speed build lsx 454 with 700hp?
or do you have ther suppliers or ideas?

i will take a 4l85 tranmission.
firstly i wanted a bigblock like a 502 or a 572 but i think the ls is the best way...
i will use cilovers led lamps and all new stuff but in the oldshool look s an ls will be nice and the ls is reliable and have good mpg in comparsion to the 502 or 572...

what do you think?

For me is better the 454 LSX if you go N/A, but if you go boosted in my opinion the ls 416 will suit for your application if you go turbo.

1. The GMPP LSX 454 is a good engine when you run it on N/A, But if your plan is to run on turbo, first place when it is bored to 454 there not much material left on the cylinder wall to withstand the additional pressure and the piston top because the dish piston and stroke the material are too thin.

Re: gm ls 416 or lsx 454 or???

Thanks for the replys

Tje problem is that i have respect in working on the engine i never done it. So i prefer a bolt in solution.
And the texas speed lsx has 100hp more than the gmpp lsx.
And sevondly in germany it is not so easy to find parts if i need something for the build.
I don t have experience so for me it is easier when its all done.

Then you might want to look at turnkey engine supply.

Steve Morris Engine (NOT STEVEN MORRIS RACING ENGINES, its different).

http://www.stevemorrisengines.com/engines/ls-series

If you got the deutschmarks to play with, he'll make it happen.

Check Out On Mast Motorsport, they have a great turn key engine packages from n/a to Supercharger, if your going to order the engine from Texas Speed preparate for a long time wait, i have bad experience with when i ordered my stroked kit from they it took 4 moths to deliver it.
