Re: What year horn button

That's a tough one Scott. May not be for a truck. It looks very similar to a 65 Impala. There is one on ebay but no description other than rat rod.

Re: What year horn button

Thanks Tbone, I bought it from a board member here thinking it was different.
Just curious what the original app might have been.

Re: What year horn button

That is 1966 Chevy truck, also same as 66 Nova. 65 Impala is taller with a plastic insert.

Re: What year horn button

Correction: the button is the same as 62-65 Nova for 66 Chevy truck . This is for the standard 1966 Chevy truck steering wheel.

Re: What year horn button

I know this is an old thread. However, I wondering if anyone knew if this would be a direct replacement for the deluxe horn ring on my '66 or did they use different steering wheels?

Re: What year horn button

You would use a standard steering wheel for this style cap.

Re: What year horn button

Actually there are two different Standard steering wheels for 1966 . One uses the Deluxe style wheel without the horn ring and the above style horn cap. The other is the same 60-66 except it came in three different colors, gray, white and fawn.

Re: What year horn button

Heres the two versions of 1966 steering wheels using the same wheel for Deluxe cab and standard cab. ( 66 also used the same standard wheel as 1960-1965 but in fawn so there are 3 steering wheels for 1966 ) Pictures show the different mounting for the horn button VS the horn Ring.

Re: What year horn button

Thanks 60-66 for the pics and clarification. I wasn't aware that there were so many options in 66.

Re: What year horn button

Wow,, 66 only!! I had no idea. Actually I tossed one in a tub I was taking to the swap meet and going to put a $10 price onthe entire tum (about worth that in scrap)

If anyone needs this 66 horn button,, send me a PM and I'll go dig through that tub. you can have it for the cost of a USPO small flat rate box!!! I surely don't need it!

Re: What year horn button

You learn something new everyday!! So what determined whether you got the 60-65 standard wheel with cap or the 66 deluxe wheel with cap on a 1966 standard cab?
