power steering box bolt size help!!!!
Does anyone know what the size and pitch of the mounting bolts are for a power steering box off a 1985 c10?

The pickup power steering box bolts are 7/16"-14

Thats for the metric box? I tried some 10mm bolts and they where not it.

It's been a long time since I have dealt with a steering box newer than '80, but as far as I know they should be 7/16"-14, just the fittings are Metric. No one has ever comlained about the bolts I supply with my steering box adapter plate. I can check a box at the shop tomorrow. If they do happen to be Metric, they are probably M12-1.25 or 11mm (don't remember the pitch).

They are 7/16-14. Not to butt in but I had a box laying on the bench.
It's not uncommon for those "cross-over to metric" years ( about 1979 thru 1986)to have both types of fasteners. even up into the '90's on the engines, still use mostly SAE threads on the blocks. |
