If it helps, my 78 C-10 has the optional hi-output alternator which is rated at 55 amps. Just ordered a 180 amp. one to take care of future needs and upcoming dual electric fans.

O'reilly's has a reman. AC Delco 100 amp. for $44 plus core. Does that fall under the "get what you pay for" slogan?

Depends on the warranty. The one I am buying has a 2 year warranty. $44 is not a bad price.

i got mine for i believe an 88 and its a 150 amp. serpentine. most of them are of the same amperage. i think you will need at least 100 amp to run electric fans and AC. BTW mine is from AUTOZONE and cost 150.00 bucks with a lifetime warranty.

88 with factory tow package would have been 105. Just had mine rebuilt last week.
