New to the Forum

Hi all, found this forum and it looks like a nice one. I've been a member of several other car/truck forums over the last 20 years. Also, I have been restoring and selling muscle cars and trucks for the last 30+ years and have over the last 5 years been turned on to the CUCV's military trucks of the 80's. Below are some of the trucks I have done this past year.

Currently I have a 28K mile M1008 truck to do something with and there is a 71/72 GMC 1500 for sale local near me....my idea for a new project is to fit the GMC 1500 body onto the M1008 4x4 engine/frame....what do you all think?

Thanks, David

Re: New to the Forum

Thanks guys, I did go look at that truck this morning. It's a 2 wheel drive 1971 GMC Camper Special, with the 400 BB and turbo 400 trans. The rockers are rusted as well as some rust in the wheel wells, it's green and he's asking $5500.00??

Re: New to the Forum

Welcome!!

Blazer frame/wheel base is smaller than a short bed truck wheel base, so you know.

Your better off just upgrading the current frame on the GMC

Hey Clyde, yep I am going to pass on that truck. What I really want is a truck just like yours! My wife's papaw had a 64 C10 SWB that she loved so I will wait on one like that.

Welcome to the forum from Western Kentucky. Man, you should paint for the military. Great job. Again, welcome.
