Cap/Camper Shells

So I've got cabin fever and I've had a few random thoughts regarding the use of caps and camper shells.

I posted in an earlier thread about looking for more leg room, and realized the potential for another issue.
- I have no room in the cab to put a roll cage. None. I'm 6'4" and I barely fit as it is, let alone with a frame around me. BUT that made me wonder about the use of a cap/camper shell to cover tubing/outriggers for the cage.
If I do need to cage it, then its pretty obvious that 2 large tubes will be going to the rear of the frame. This is a little less subtle than is ideal.

This occured to me because of that farmtruk dude with the asian kid and the dog. He's got a cage, but the shell covers it up.

Thoughts?

I'll save the next one. I've tossed 2 long bed 60's canopies lately. Was going to cut one down for my shorty but the window deminsions looked weird.

You might be able to lower the seat a little and put something like this cage in. But I see what you mean, it would be tight. I'm also 6'4".

Ya thats the problem, I already need to RAISE the seat because of clearance and the angle for my back/hips post surgery. I don't bend well haha.

Newfisher, that would be cool. I'm starting to think that using a canopy and an RV boot may make an interesting combo. The RV boot is a corrugated rubber alot like what is in 2-length busses. It would allow you to theoretically "combine" the cab and bed areas blazer-style, but it not be "hard" fixed. This would mean a psuedo-blazer/extended cab which may be kinda weird haha.

Maybe something like this....with the black in the second picture being the "Egress" to the cab.
