Patch panels line up
I bought floor patch panels from top banana for a 65 chevy pickup, the hole in the patch panel to bolt it to the frame does not line up. Is it because its a panel? Are the frames on the panel the same as a pick up?

Re: Patch panels line up
I had the same problem with floor patch panels from Top Banana for my 65 K-10. I cut, moved and re-welded them lining the hole up where it needed to be. I just blamed it on being an aftermarket panel and moved on.

Re: Patch panels line up
I had the same issue. The patches I bought from top banana were very high quality, but the holes didnt line up. I considered this minor, as most people have to do significant modification to get patch panels to even form up correctly.

Had the same issue with mine: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...6&postcount=55
I don't know of a supplier. I just whipped one up out of sheetmetal and tacked it inside the cab support before installing the floor pan. |

Re: Patch panels line up
Grandpa54, I misunderstood what you were talking about until your other post. I thought you meant to lower door pillar holes. Here is what I did. I replaced the sheet metal, separated the donut from the old rust metal, cleaned and painted the back. I used a bolt with a little paint to mark where the bolt came up from the bottom and hit the floor pan, that's where I drilled my hole and hollowed it out until the original donut fit, then I tacked it in place. Hope this helps.
Good luck! Let us know how it goes. |
