79 3/4 ton crossmember for my 61
Will a crossmember from a 79 3/4 ton chevy fit in my 61? It has disc brakes, master cylinder, brake booster, power steering unit, and tilt column, and it's all FREE! I am worried about crossmember width and if I can convert the 8 lugs to fit my 6 lug rims. If it's too much work I will just keep looking for 1/2 ton unit. Thanks!

It will but it has 8 lug disc brakes. If you want the half ton ride you will have to change spindles and rotors. Not really worth it for a half ton. If it were a 3/4 ton then yes it would be worth it.

Are you saying that if MY truck was a 3/4 ton it would be worth it? I think that's what you mean.
