79 Blazer factory tach PROBLEM ?

Just bought a 79 k5 THE TACH NOT WORKING ITS AT ZERO WHEN IGNITION IS OFF AND PEGS WHEN YOU START ANY SUGGESTIONS WERE TO START ?

I'd start with the ground and the printed circuit on back of the cluster, there might be something obvious.

is it new to the truck,
pegs running or in start
it should zero when keyed on, not off(mine moves a little bit)

just bought truck goes to zero when you turn on key then when you start it pegs out all other gauges work fine

can you see if it's got the right harness on the back?
does it go threw the firewall?
should be pink power,brown coil,black ground....
other browns are lights......
may have been added?,
is the cluster case sealed behind it?
how high does it count?
stock ign?
plug on the dist cap?
mine looked like this
