New guy from the PNW

Hello! New guy here. I'm not good with introductions but my name is Jon, I grew up in Illinois but now reside in Washington State because of the Navy. I was an auto mechanic up until a few years ago when I signed my life away to work on F-18s lol. I'm not new to Chevys but I've been playing with Full Size Jeeps for the last 8 or 9 years or so. I've got a 1979 Jeep Cherokee Golden Eagle as my off-road toy/daily driver and picked up a 1979 Chevy Scottsdale K20 as a tow rig/recovery vehicle right before I left for deployment. I'm sure I'll have a few questions and more than a few ideas to share along the way.

Re: New guy from the PNW

Oh, and a little about the truck. It's a typical Craigslist Special basket case. Hack job electrical, hillbilly lift, and half assed engine/drivetrain swap. But it was cheap, so I jumped on it. It was originally a 400c.i. truck with an auto trans and NP203. The PO decided to swap a 350c.i. engine, SM465 trans, and NP208 out of a 1985 K10. My plans are to fix the hillbilly lift, find either another 400 and swap it in or convert to a 454, keep the SM465 and convert to hydaulic clutch, swap in a NP203/205 doubler, and source some CUCV axles and springs and run some Humvee 37's...along with a long list of electical fixes and interior/exterior cosmetic items that need attention.
Well here are some pics of the turd:
