The uppers don't wear as bad as the lowers

Had 150,000 miles on mine when I rubuilt the susp and the uppers were still nice and tight. You could prob get. 250,000 out of stock uppers with no issues I'm certain as long as they are taken care of.

Re: who alls runnin riveted balljoints still

I recently changed mine out on my 85 short bed. Only because I put on lowering spindles and springs so I thought I would just rebuild the whole front end. Otherwise they would still be on there.

Still on too, probable the originals are better then good new ones. Universal joints are that way, original ones are stronger then new replacements.

Still have mine. Not safe anymore though. Front wheels wobble like casters on a shopping cart!

Mine were still on my 67. I changed them out when I slammed it though.

Re: who alls runnin riveted balljoints still

I will only replace what is worn out. If the joint has no play - it's going to stay.

As mentioned above, and in my opinion, most "jobber" replacements are crap compared to OEM.

Both my lowers were poo, and became Moog "Problem Solvers." Uppers are still original.
