I have a 78 blazer and was wanting full exhaust but was wondering where to route the pipes after the rear end, does it go just under the frame rails ?I,ve been looking in town for a blazer to look at in town but not a one running around

Re: anyone running duals on lowered blazer
Air or static ? Either go under the diff, another option is through the frame rails and over the axel on the outside, join to be tight
Last one is to use oval pipe, I just bought a bunch of cool stuff from Spintech, 3 inch pipe squishes down real nice. Unless you are running a BBC, dual 3s will not be needed, 2.5 is ample and its under 2 inches in oval

Re: anyone running duals on lowered blazer
Im going out the side before the tire, too much stuff in the way around the diff.
Are you running stock leafs , tire widths ? What about going over the frame behind the rocker boxes then go beside the frame rails over the diff and out the back??

Re: anyone running duals on lowered blazer
I've had true duals and have had them in front of the rear wheels (too loud with the windows down) straight out the back (fumes coming in when rear window down) and behind the rear wheels with 79 Trans-Am Dial tips which I liked the best.

Re: anyone running duals on lowered blazer
Once mine is done it will have the dual exhaust again. There should be plenty of room to either dump it before the rear tires if you want or go all the way back. It all depends on how everything is setup in the rear on what you can do.. I think the biggest problem you would have woudl be the size of the muffler not the exhaust since that is going to be smaller than the muffler anyways.
Anything can be done.. Sometimes you just have to be a little creative.. |

Re: anyone running duals on lowered blazer
Well problem solved,I had some rust issues in the 4 corners so I decided to make a whole new floor and raise it 2 inchs or so.Now my pumkin won,t hit and I have room for a nice arch for pipes over the rear, down the framerails and out the back and over to the sides. It,s the big gas tank that makes it hard. That was easy wasn,t it LOL.Now the fun begines
