Tucked tires & wheels on a static drop 67-69
Ok guys looking for pics of your static dropped 67-69 with the wheels & tires tucked under fenders & if you have deep lips on a factory frame even better!!!
Just trying to see what set up looks better so that I can go with Just finished the grand slam kit (5 bolt disc brake conversion 4/6 static drop kit) & my goal is to go big wheels & tires 18"-22" with a deep lip in the back & I don't want to narrow the diff unless I absolutely have to? The reason I say 67-69 only is because of the difference in rear end length after 1970. Thank you for looking 1969 C10 fleet side SWB 1969 Olds Cutlass 442 1964 Chevy Chevelle SS Keep it fast&low |

A deep lip in the back will require narrowing the rearend.
Look at this thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=498403

Yeah I came up on that one too. but if you look at the two-tone orange and white one it doesn't look like he had to narrow his diff? I'm looking for a big lip, not a punch bowl I'll be happy with 4 1/2 that will tuck but if I have to narrow I will.
I have came up on old threads that the guy's say they didn't narrow but don't give all info on build so I shoot them a private msg but they don't respond. It's just that narrowing a diff in Houston is not cheep & for some reason took them over 3 weeks almost a month & I want to say it was 1,200 & that was 3 years ago I hate to know what it costs today :/ |

67-69 housing with a 10" wide wheel "tucked",... will require a 5" backspace.
Here's a 4.5/6 drop with a 20x10 (4.75" bs). But if you are going to bag it ever,... I would do a 5" bs.

Keith my truck is a 69 just like this one & I want to say I measured 4 1/2 BS without cutting bed & tubbing.
Its raining outside right now & I don't know if my numbers are right? I was under the impression that more backspacing = less of a lip? I was going to go 22x11 & narrow the diff but the fab work on the bed would kill me $$$ unless I do the cuts & leave it open till I win the lotto |

Re: Tucked tires & wheels on a static drop 67-69
More BS equals less lip. That is correct.
I measured the truck I posted. There are lots of opinions on what is "tucked". Just remember a 10" wide rim is actually 11" wide on a tape measure. (10" is the bead surface,... not the overall width)

Yeah that's the way I measure from the inside of bead to bead.
& your right on the different tucked opinions I don't like to see the top of the tires. Is that your truck? That is the look I'm looking for the lip on the back is perfect IMO Are those 10"? |
