Truck Jack

Just wondered if anyone had some suggestions for the best way to repaint my jack. It was originally black, so I would repaint it that color, but should I use self etch primer for better durability or would paint do the trick? Since the jack mechanics would have to move up and down, I don't really think that just a coat of paint would stay chip free. Also, I just have a flat black paint, would a textured paint be a better route? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure that someone has some knowledge on this topic and has done it before.

Re: Truck Jack

I had mine powdercoated. I took a chance. Wasn t sure if it would still work after but it works very nicely.
