griffin radiator does not fit its application !
My 66 c-10 is getting a zz-4 gm crate and 200-r4.
I got a griffin 'direct fit' . Its 3 1/8 deep and too thick to fit into stock brackets. Any been there with this problem ? Its a good looking unit. Hate to return it. |

I'd call Griffin and see if perhaps you were sent the wrong unit.

Re: griffin radiator does not fit its application !
There are 2 sizes of stock brackets. You have the radiator thats fits the wide bracket(heavy duty v8). You apparently have the std duty bracket. You just need to track down a wide stock bracket, cuz no one makes them. Or you could fab one up.

Actually, I went through the same exact thing recently. Even the V8 rad. brackets do not fit the Griffin. Sucks. I returned mine.

Re: griffin radiator does not fit its application !
I did email griffin and did not get good resolution. Basically was told the radiator was engineered to oem specs.
What vehicles have the HD radiators? thanks |

Re: griffin radiator does not fit its application !
This Thread should help you make it fit. He fabricated some brackets to make it work. Overall, it sounds like he was very pleased with the quality of the Griffin radiator.

Re: griffin radiator does not fit its application !
Griffin is a premium radiator (I used Griffins on my last two Super Gas drag car builds). I would've modified or found the wider saddle mounts to use that radiator.
