62 LS swap questions

So far everything has gone smoothly. Harness is wired and fuel system is in place. Im at the point to wire the starter.

The LS starter has one large post Bat + and I believe the S terminal.
My question is do I run the existing purple wire from the stock 62 wiring system to small S terminal or is something else required??

I searched the forum and read a couple threads close to what Im looking for but nothing exact.

Thanks Dave-

Re: 62 LS swap questions

Looks like I should run the existing purple wire to the control side of a bosch relay and send battery voltage (fused) to the smaller post.

anyone ever heard of doing this for the LS swap?

Re: 62 LS swap questions

I think you are on the correct path with the starter wire.

Running the small stock purple wire direct or going the relay route?

Factory purple wire to S terminal, battery cable to the big terminal. You can also use the factory purple wire to trigger a relay that applies battery power to the S terminal if you choose. I believe that's the way most new cars are wired. Either way will work.

Re: 62 LS swap questions

And this is why I love this site, everyone is willing to help and as of now I have not seen ego's which is nice so no one is talked down on, and the expertise of the guys are top notch, heck all you have to do is look at the work that is knocked out, and posting the work and the steps along with pictures will help keep our hobby alive even when we are not !
I will be following this build and being in AZ. I may run into you.
