60-62 cab mount cushions
in the faq there is a post about 63-66, so how about the early 60-62 body cushions. how do the assemble?
my mounts are thin (about 1/2") between the cab and the support. bottom is about 1" thick. we talked about this in another thread a little. I have a set of 63-66 urethane mounts and the cushions for between the cab and support are 1" thick (twice as thick as my stock ones) by using these wouldn't it throw the ft and rear body lines off? so what have you 60-62 guy's done for new body cushions for the 60-62's? maybe cut the new ones in half? might work if i can find a way to cut them.

Re: 60-62 cab mount cushions
I have a real nice set coming off the 63 that I will send you. I took them off the 21k mile 61 when I got the cab off. The GM #'s are still visible and the mounts still look almost new. Let me know if you want them and I can get them boxed up for you here in the next few days. I completed the last of the frame prep last night, so they'll be getting pulled this weekend. I have all four sets of mounts.

Re: 60-62 cab mount cushions
thanks for the offer and will let you know. I have a set of the new ones. when you pull the 61's off does the thin one go between the cap and support? do you need another set of urethane ones?

Re: 60-62 cab mount cushions
On the 61 mounts....the larger ones go between the frame and body. The smaller ones go on the bottom.
On the 63-66 styles the front upper as the real large pucks, smaller ones on the bottom. And the rear gets the smaller ones on top and the odd shapped ones on the bottom. Heres a pic I had archived of the rear mount on the 63 style. I have two new sets from Performance Energy, but thanks for the offer. If you need the original 61 set I have, they are yours...just let me know and its no rush on my end. The original 61's I pulled are all square upper/lower and I'd say 1/2" shorter on the top mounts than the later style. All the 63's I've ever had had round ones on uppers/lowers. The Performance Energy kits I got are nice.....only exception is in one kit I got 1 wrong bolt. No big deal...went to my local store and got a 1/2" x 5" grade 8 bolt to take care of it. Cost me a $1 flat.

Re: 60-62 cab mount cushions
This may help someone out as the instructions with the kits are marginal

Re: 60-62 cab mount cushions
Heres a good couple of pics of the newer mounts in the order the go on. The 1st pic is the front, 2nd pic is the rear. Although the bolt is actually upside down in the 2nd pic. Mine comes up from the underside of the cab to a capture nut inside the cab.
I know this is a 60-62 thread, but it may help someone who stumbles in for the 63-66 mounts and since it doesn't appear the 60-62 square ones are reproduced. I'm still digging for a 60-62 diagram on the mounts.

Re: 60-62 cab mount cushions
I just bought the mount set from Classic Chevy. The rubber mounts go on fine you just have to re use the front bolts or get ones from the hardware store. For some reason the front bolts are like 1/2 to short. Other than that they are good!

Re: 60-62 cab mount cushions
Took some time last night and got some pics and parts # of the mounts. The 60-61 mounts I have are 1" thick and GM part # 3763735 on the top mounts and 5/8" thick and part # 3763734 on the bottom mounts. The mounts are square and 2 3/4". Total mount height is 1 5/8". These were removed from a 61 c-10 6cyl 2wd truck if it makes any difference.
The replacement mounts from performance energy are: front height is 2" and the rears are 2 1/4" in height.

Re: 60-62 cab mount cushions
No problem at all. Yeah, they have metal plates built in and some round metal spacers also and then the steel inner sleeves. I've got another member that wants the mounts since you don't need them. Told him you had 1st dibs, but I'll let him know.
You never know....this info may help someone else in the future.

Re: 60-62 cab mount cushions
Just pulled the cab off my '61 long step, and I believe it has never been off before.
The front cab mount is thin square pad on the top, thick pad on the bottom. The rear cab mount is thick square pad on the top, thin square pad on the bottom. Not sure if there was a reason it was this way, but I made note of it when I took it apart.

Re: 60-62 cab mount cushions
When I pulled the cab off my '62 K10, it was all original, and had round mounts.
In fact, every one of the cab frame mounts was rusted through, in a perfect circle, where the rubber sat on top of the mount and held water. -Brad

Re: 60-62 cab mount cushions
Does anyone know if the cab mounts can be used for the front end. My truck isn't aligned because my front end is taking a nose dive. I believe it's because of missing mounts. I've attached a picture of where I think they go.

Re: 60-62 cab mount cushions
You should be able to get the front radiator support mounts from any of the usual vendors

Re: 60-62 cab mount cushions
I didn't know they were called radiator support mounts. I was looking up the wrong name for it and couldn't find it, until now. Thank you!
