My 1972 C20 dually with 19.5 wheels
Sorry about the quality of the pictures but it was taken with my cell phone. The truck started as a C20 and I upgrades the brakes, differential and spindles to a 1989 C3500 dually. I added HD moog 6454 front springs to give it additional front clearence. Since it did not come with helper springs in the back, I added a 3500 lb Super Spring leafs in the back. I also installed new lower mood ball joints and moog inner/outer tie rods. The truck runs and handles 75 MPH like a new car (minus the exhaust noise, of course).
Last week I added 225/70/19.5 all around. Two of the rear tires are in poor condition and it shakes the truck a little bit at 70 mph. As soon as I get two good used tires she'll got for balancing. Hope to get it aligned this week and start repairing some of the rust. This will just be a "nice looking work truck" but nothing close to a show truck. |

That things a beast i love the bigger wheels on it might steal that idea. Just got a 78 disc brake crossmember with all the goodies for mine. going to try to run hydro-boost assist on the brakes, mines going to be a nice clean truck too but i'm also going to work it hard.

Ed, you only about 20 miles or so from me. I am in Palmer, but backwards. For everyone else, that is Blount County secret code talk, lol.
Also forgot to mention that the engine is a 383 bored 30 over and has a nice cam in it with a 350 tranny. One day I'll put a 5 speed tranny in it. |
