4L65 trans cooler adapter sizes
Looking to trade my factory hard lines for some braided AN lines. I've got these two sizes pulled up from Summit Racing. These seem to be the two sizes I've read about.
Not sure if they are metric or NPS Out of a 2005 Yukon XL, 4L65e http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-640520 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-670520 Anyone know which size the trans uses? Thanks all

Re: 4L65 trans cooler adapter sizes
I used the first one listed with the 1/4 NPS in my 4L60E trans. I am pretty sure that the 4L65e case did not change that port.
I ran -6 braided line all the way to the cooler mounted in front. I used a factory HD cooler that used the same fittings on it to adapt the AN line to it. Worked out great.

Re: 4L65 trans cooler adapter sizes
I found the second fittings on another website that specified them as 4L65 adapters.
So I'm all confused cause I've read exactly what you've typed from others too

Re: 4L65 trans cooler adapter sizes
My 80e used the straight 0-ring fittings as well (but the 80e has a specialized fitting set).
The th350 up through the EARLY 90's 80e's all used the 1/4 NPSM o-ring fittings, literally every trans. If you look at the stock part, its the PTC with a 1/4 NPSM on the other side.

Re: 4L65 trans cooler adapter sizes
Ok
What I'll do then is just order both and send whatever doesn't work back. I hope it's the second link since they are cheaper I'll report back the results.

Re: 4L65 trans cooler adapter sizes
I looked at a few transmission sites and there seems to be some conflicting info out there. Bowler and TCI show them to be the same, but a couple of others show different part numbers for each trans, but no specs on what threads they are.

Re: 4L65 trans cooler adapter sizes
Starting on 11-29-07 the cooler line fittings changed to 9/16-18 thread, Before 11-29-07 the fittings are 1/4" NPSM on ALL 4L60E, 4L65E, & 4L70E, NO confusion, This is from a GM TSB.
