20x15 wheel

Can a 20x15 wheel fit under a coil spring truck with simply a tub? or is other modification needed? the rear is dropped 6in with a drop coil. I plan on ordering a custom offset so I should be able to get the wheel centered where I want it... just concerned about it rubbing on the coil or bump stop bracket... if I go 20x15 wheel I would be wrapping it in the M/T Sportsman S/R, LT 29 x 18R20. Height is dead on what I am looking for.
Thanks in advance...

Re: 20x15 wheel

You should be Ok with the 15" wheels with just the sheet metal work, and no frame mods. It will come close, but will have enough clearance. Here you can see a 14" wide wheel with a PB onboard bag setup, and it would barely have room if there was a coil spring sticking outside the frame some in front. You would have to move the wheel as far outside as possible.

Measuring is always best when trying to squeeze the maximum in there. Do they offer a narrower tire than an 18" wide? Maybe a 16"?

What size and brand are the rear tires?

Re: 20x15 wheel

Yeah loving those rear tires... would hate to see the price tag... Pirelli doesn't appear to be making them anymore or they are just starting... cant really find any to buy except Ebay and Pirelli doesn't list on their site...

as far as M/T they offer:
Tire: 29X15.00R20LT Rim width: 13.0-14.0
Tire: 29X18.00R20LT Rim width: 15.0-16.0
They do have the 15in wide tire but then it drops down to a 13-14 rim width which I am having trouble locating... Intro, Billet spec, etc tends to jump from 12-15 with nothing in between...

Re: 20x15 wheel

As far as Pirelli not making them, been hearing that for last few years. I think there are way too many people running those for them to stop. What I have heard is they make a "run" of them for the year at a certain time and supply gets low before the next run. Maybe give them a call to confirm that if your seriously considering them, that's what I did 2 years ago.

Did you narrow your rear end? I have a 7" backspacing on a 20x12 with a factory 68 rear and I'm running 31x16 20 M/T SRs on my 20x12 rims and they fit fine. The problem I'm having is MT quit making the 31x16s and I'm not sure what I'm going to replace these with. I don't want to step down to a 29" tall tire or go to a narrower tire. So I'm not sure what my options are going to be....

Intro and some of the others will make any width you want, and just becomes a non-standard width. Instead of them being able to buy the outer, they have to create by narrowing a wider one down. For a 14" wheel, they will narrow down a 15" outer.

The tires are available and can get them for you. I have gotten them in the past for customers. I have heard the same thing about not being available, but never had an issue getting them so far. Pricing for tires changes constantly, and last time I checked, they were $470 a piece.

Similar setup as you... stock width 67 rearend... I haven't had much luck finding other tires that will work for the rear in 20s... Either the M/T options (29x18 or 29x15) or you jump down to a 315/35/20 which is 12in wide and 29tall (toyo makes this one but other brands might as well) or you can go to a car tire but I have been told those might not hold up so well to the weight of the truck as they were designed for light weight vettes and exotics...

$470/ piece for the 24in rears? that's not bad... about the same at the M\T but the 24in wheel that can handle it would prob be much more $$$$
As far as custom widths from intro etc what kind of money does it add to have them make a 13/14 inch wheel... I am a little concerned over this process as on the Camaro forum there were companies doing custom width wheels that were not cheap and they were having horrible balancing etc issues with them... then the company wouldnt stand behind them so guys were stuck with $5k worth of paperweights (Not saying that would be the case here... just explaining weariness)

Re: 20x15 wheel

I've got a 14" wide Raceline and no issues balancing. My set of 24X9 & 24X14 were about $3300-$3400 delivered, if I remember correctly. About a grand less than intros (and I've had them too, & loved them)

Re: 20x15 wheel

With the exception of brake clearance, you all are making me glad I only run a 15" rim. I really like only paying $150/e for MTs on my 15x12's

325/50/15 MT DOT. Could actually go a little bigger. Stock width 12 bolt, custom beadlocks.

Post some pics of the 325/50/15 I'd love to see how they look on your truck

Third pic is pretty old, but the rear on view with no bumper is the most "direct" view.

Re: 20x15 wheel

These are 24x15 as well and fit without doing anything to the suspension. Although I do have the ride tech strong arms kit.

Rear was shortened and I had to flip the calipers around because they hit the trailing arm. I just ordered a set of matching 20x15's. Haven't decided on the 31'' or 33'' M/t's yet
