Age...

Crazy to think that in a few months my truck will be 50 years old.
I better be as loved when I'm 50. Lol

Re: Age...

Yep.
I often think of that also.
But it's also odd that my truck was 18 when I was 18.

Re: Age...

Me and my truck are both '66 models and both have had recent upgrades, haha. I lost a few pounds and my truck is finally driving after over a year.

there are a few aids out there though to help you along. just think if you could just give your truck a little blue pill and it would perk right up!!

I had my first '66 in high school. I would be driving a '53 if we were going with birth-year trucks (had one of those too)......

Re: Age...

I was a 12 year old car kid when the 1960's came out. I was sitting in the car with my mom and sister when my dad went inside the local dealership to buy something at the parts dept.

I remember pointing out how ugly the GMC hood was compared to the Chevy trucks, and questioned how they would ever expect to sell something so ugly. I also wondered out loud why the stepsides had been delivered with the old rear fenders on them. I was curious what the new fenders designed for the new cab were going to look like.

Re: Age...

My truck will be 50 in about August...and so will I.

I remember the local gas station owner had a 64 or 66, can remember the emblem actually. It was a wrecker and I thought that was the coolest vehicle ever created. I thought, that's what I wanted.....so I have my 65, its not a wrecker, but it has grown on me...some 25 years!

Re: Age...

my truck is a 65 so it was around when I was born in 68. I sometimes think what it was doing when I learned how to ride a bike or when i graduated high school or when I flew to Saudi Arabia for Desert Storm.

Re: Age...

My truck and I are pretty close in age, I'm a 64' model and my truck is a 62' model.

My dad owned a blue 62' all the way up until the early 70's, I loved that truck. My dad owned a Western Auto store and a Ski Doo dealership for many many years, the 62' was the shop truck, all lettered up. If I can find a pic of it, I will post it.

Re: Age...

My 64 C10 is 50, and I'm 51. We both perform a lot better than you'd expect, based on age and appearance
