Off the wall Bed Idea

Has anyone seen or have pictures of a bed made out of recycled gym floor wood? I aquired a good sized stack and was wondering if it has been done yet.

I dont have any pictures. It is the standard wood basketball court flooring tongue and groov about 3x1 various lengths. I am new to the Classic Truck world. This is my first 66 Long Fleet 292 inline 6 with 4 speed.

Re: Off the wall Bed Idea

I meant more of what the cross section looked like. Didn't know if it was solid or some type of pressed board or laminate. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if it's solid, as long as it's finished properly (i.e. Marine laquer) it should be okay. Would probably look real nice too.

I seem to remembers someone's build on here with the wood out of a bowling alley - looked real sharp but again I don't know about how practical it would be - his was obviously a show truck.

Re: Off the wall Bed Idea

It is solid wood (I think Maple) I want to mount it to a piece of plywood so it will have a solid backing to mount to the frame. I plan on sealing the heck out of it. It is going to be my future winter daily driver.

LV nice play on words and really cool...for a single man. I don't think my wife would go for it. I have pics of a bed and tailgate made into a park bench somewhere. I'll try to find and post.

I think it would look really good. Just like you said, seal it off really good top and bottom. The maple or oak boards look good , but I like the old parquet floors too. Wouldn't it be cool to have a piece of the Boston Garden in the back of your truck.
