My new 68 C20
I just purchased this C20 to tow my 21' center console boat. It has a 292 straight 6 with 3 speed manual with granny gear. Do you think it will tow with any issues? I'm thinking the only thing I need to do is swap out for disc brakes in the front.

Re: My new 68 C20
That thing will tow pretty much anything you want. It's what it was built for from the factory.

No need for disc brakes. Those drums with proper maintenance will lock up if needed.

Re: My new 68 C20
Thank you everyone for all your compliments. I love driving it. I'll just flush out the brake fluid and replace with new. It brakes great now. Is it normal for the truck to pull to the left a bit when I brake hard?

I had a '67 3/4 that would pull like a horse, but couldn't stop once the brakes heated up when towing heavy items (think '69 Buick Riviera). I had to give myself plenty of comfort space. That '67 didn't have power brakes either. My '69 GMC 3/4 with drum/power brakes would stop on a dime and in a straight line under heavy towing load. I am here in Old Town, so feel free to drop me a PM if you need any assistance.

Re: My new 68 C20
It'll do fine, I've my camper with my K-20 and the drum brakes will stop it if I give it a little warning and the trailer brakes are working right.... the camper weights 10,500 lbs according to the build sheet.

Re: My new 68 C20
From the factory it was a all white truck with blue interior. I'm getting extra paint from the guy I bought the truck from. I'll see if there's any color code on the can for you.

Re: My new 68 C20
I would appreciate that... it looks like a lighter blue than came on the 1967 models and it looks great... my truck was originally a solid white truck also and I want to do the lt blue and white 2 tone...

Re: My new 68 C20
Nice looking C20. The front disc conversion is the only thing I'd consider doing to it.
