Hey all kind of new here been lurking for a while. I finally got to start working on my acquisition 1966 long fleet c10. I need help identifying the engine. The intake casting is. gM 3823418. Any body have any clue. It has a single barrel carb I know it is an inline six. Thanks

Re: Engine Id help
I think you will need a casting # from the engine block itself to find out.

Re: Engine Id help
The block having the 1.75" taller deck height moves the head and everything attached to it up, and the 292 also has that bypass hose coming off the waterpump.

Re: Engine Id help
Block casting number is on the right/passenger side of the block, BTW.

Re: Engine Id help
Can you post a pic of the other side of the engine? I could tell you which engine it is right off the bat if you can.

Re: Engine Id help
Thanks It is a 292. Just finished installing some pick and pull dodge Durango rear bench seats . Now on to rebuilding the carb, new points and plugs.
