Interesting site
I found this site while surfing tonight. Very nice stuff with some good info on what to look for and what mods to do to mine I think. I like the 6.0 SS cam mod.
This may be of help to some of you. Some ECM's tach signal is not strong enough for some aftermarket tach's. This method can be used to “boost” the signal from the ECM. All you do is hook one end of a 680 ohm resistor (SUPPLIED BELOW) to the tach wire, and other end of the resistor to a keyed 12V+. This may not be needed with all tachs and all ECM’s. The pre 2002 ECM’s and tach combinations seem to be hit-and-miss. So far, all 2003+ have had to have it. http://bdturnkeyengines.com/engine-g...b090cd25be8324

Re: Interesting site
FYI
It's not a matter of the signal is not strong enough. The older blue red PCM tach output is a pulse that goes from zero to 8 volts. The green blue PCM actually provides a ground when the coils fire. A tach needs a voltage transition close to 5 to 7 volts to read. So on the newer pcm's when the coils are not firing the resistor pulls the voltage up to 12 volts then when firing the PCM provides a ground to make the voltage transition across the 5-7 threshold making the tach read rpm.

Re: Interesting site
Its similar info to what we've used here for a while. The OG thread goes back a ways:
