Warn Hubs/Glovebox decal

Just curious as I've not been able to locate any info regarding this topic on the board. I apologize if I've just missed it somewhere. My 70 Blazer has Warn hubs (though candidly it's had a 72 front axle swap) and the decal pictured below on the glovebox. I just assumed it was aftermarket replacement situation, but I keep seeing that decal pop up in multiple glovebox pics on the board. Then when I ran across the 28K mile Blazer thread again and saw that decal on a low mileage example (relatively unmolested) I thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone knew the story...in other words, could these be an OEM hub option...Did some trucks leave with Warns from the factory instead of Spicers, was this a dealer option, or none of the above? Any insight appreciated.

*Green Blazer pics obviously borrowed from another thread.

Re: Warn Hubs/Glovebox decal

From what I know Warn hubs were not available as a factory option but were available as a dealer accessory. See the itemized bill of sale on this thread, which lists Warn hubs as a dealer add-on for a 69 pickup: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=645242

In looking at your SPID it looks like your K5 left GM without optional locking front hubs (like my K20) and the Warns were added along the way. I've seen the Warn decal in differing locations and suspect it came loose for the owner to affix wherever.

I've seen the Warn decal just below the rear view mirror mount on several trucks.

Thanks guys. That really was my initial thought...but it just seemed to keep popping up on glove boxes by the 4X4 shift decal, so I began to wonder. I also wanted a reason to justify the new Warns I put on, since an acceptable set of Spicers have eluded me...I hadn't seen the decal in other locations.
