1959 Apaches hard to come by?
Guy around the corner I know who's younger brother got one and is getting frustrated with engine things that keep coming up. Don't know all the specifics about the truck but is extremely clean and straight with all the original bumpers chrome and trim perfect shape. Hoping he's wanting to get rid of it and will see what he wants for it

Amymore i look at it like if the body frame is good/needs minimal work, and it's a decent price, do it. I love old apache's but it depends what u wana give for it. When it comes to old trucks, drivetrain parts are the easiest parts to replace sometimez.

Hoping to chat with him during the week. Plus it is a step side which I like.

Re: 1959 Apaches hard to come by?
'59's aren't any harder to come by than any of the other TF years as far as I know. If there is a model that's harder to come by it would be the short Fleetsides, not the step sides.
Unless you plan on doing a spot-on restoration focus on completeness and absence of rust. Those are the expensive and/or time consuming things. More modern drivetrain components are easy and readily available...and most of us plan to change those things out anyway.

We went into a serious recession in 58. There was not as many 59's sold as the earlier ones.

Re: 1959 Apaches hard to come by?
Drivetrains are the easy part. If you find one not rusty with all the goodies it's a great one to grab. I have one and know of 2 in a yard near me but those are rust buckets

Re: 1959 Apaches hard to come by?
According to the production numbers that I found, there were considerably less 58 trucks sold than 59s. There were 278,615 58s and 353,509 59s, so that does make 58s more rare than 59s. These numbers include Panels and Cameos, and all other models combined. No breakdown by series.
