4 speed manual leaks
I have a 75 GMC 3/4 with a manual 4 speed( original with the granny 1st).
I just had the transmission rebuilt by a reputable shop while I was restoring the truck. It was out of the truck and so all work was done on a bench. It was without gear oil when I installed it. I put 80/90 oil in it and filled it to the point where it just ran out. Now the transmission is leaking and it even looks like oil sprayed out the top of the transmission. Of course now I have oil on the clutch. Is it possible I overfilled it? Occasionally I hear a noise which I though was speedometer cable chatter which would go away after a few miles. Any ideas? Re: 4 speed manual leaks
I used silicone on mine when i bench built it because the gasket was ripped from fel-pro. Anyway it's possible to overfill it and that happen. I did first time took clutch out n dried it put it back in no problem.
