Will not start

I change my water pump and fan and now my truck will not start, it ran for a short while then it cut off and now it just turns over but will not fire

It sounds like you knocked a wire loose while changing the water pump. I don't believe the water pump or fan could cause a problem like that, even if incorrectly installed. If you put your belts in wrong you would get a squeel or just non-functioning accessories. I would start looking for disconnected wires that may have gotten bumped loose, especially if you have an electric fuel pump. Look around the battery and then work your way around to the back of the engine looking for things that are disconnected. I'm thinking electrical, but the vacuum lines on your CTO valves on top of the engine is a prime cadidate for this too, and in the perfect position to get bumped loose during a pump change.

I check the wires and they all appear to be connected, I didn't hear the fuel pump turn on I just replaced it a year ago on the drivers side

Might as well check for fire. I have had ignition modules quit during unrelated mechanic work more than once.
