Dropped Leaf Springs
Right now my '72 C10 has a set of mismatching leaf springs which creates a leaning appearance so I want to get a new set. Has anyone installed a set of 4" drop leaf springs on a 67-72? What I'd like to know is how the ride is compared to stock vs. 4" drop leaf springs. Most of what I've seen on the board are flip kits.
I don't think I want to go as far as a 6" drop as I'd like to steer clear of having to notch the frame. That would mean a flip kit option is out. If I find I want to go lower in the future, I can always get drop shackles. I'm thinking of going with a 2.5/4 drop. However, I did see X2Industries offer 2" drop hangers but they sure are pricey! Along with 2" drop shackles, that'll bring a stock leaf spring to 4" drop. This is the only place I've seen drop hangers for 67-72s. I don't know how these would hold up. Just looking for some .02 cents opinions here. Thanks, Alex

Re: Dropped Leaf Springs
Alex, I'm running the ECE 4" springs and the brothers drop shackles. I think it dropped me right around 5". The ride is exactly like stock, I love it. The only problem I've had is when I get about 800 lbs or so in the bed I have bottomed out. I want to go the max I can now and add helper bags for leveling.

Re: Dropped Leaf Springs
Just lowered a truck on ECE 4 inch drop leafs and 1.5 shackle also from ECE. The ride is nice. The shackle requires you to trim the bed cross brace a little so the leaf spring will clear. Check it out on Instagram. Screen name on there is 54CaddyMac

Re: Dropped Leaf Springs
That's exactly what I had to do also. Love your truck by the way.

Re: Dropped Leaf Springs
Wish the truck was mine. It is a customers truck. He doesn't get on here much I think.

Re: Dropped Leaf Springs
What size wheels are on the truck, I'm wanting to do the same with ttII 18x10 in rear with 265-50-18 rubber. 5.74 backspace is what I'm working with.
