All black 1.5 DIN bezel

How common are the all black 1.5 DIN gauge bezels? Found this in the salvage yard on Saturday morning and it happened to be a 50% off day ($12.99 for it). I first thought about selling this one, but I'm thinking more of modifying it to fit my '74 and putting in a later model CD player maybe. I only found the wood ones or silver brushed look ones, didn't find any all black like this one in internet searches...

Also, anyone done a swap like this already? I have to assume there have been. I must not be using the correct search terms though. If someone can point me in the direction of a thread or two...

Re: All black 1.5 DIN bezel

actually looks like it's in nice shape....great find! I don't think their that common because they would most likely come in the base model trucks. The wood and silver ones are much more common.

Don't know the value but I know NOS silver ones probably start at $100 and go up.

Search for instrument cluster bezel or something similar.

I never found much off of craigslist....only eBay. That's where my price point came from. I paid $200+ for my silver, NOS dash bezel. It sure did improve the look!

Re: All black 1.5 DIN bezel

I have been asking $150 for this for awhile now - and it's not generating any interest. Am I asking too much?

It has a real small blemish but it's NIB/NOS.

Yeah that's what I figured - and to be honest, that's why I'm not using it. It's not that I'm so wicked picky, but I have another one that's NOS/NIB but with the bright brushed aluminum. So if you have a choice...

not sure how much you want to mod but....
74 needs a wiper hole ,or change to the later coloum
the early pad and later bezel, leaves a funny gap at the top.
my 78 bezel was hacked when i got it,i made it fit a newer stock CD type

Oooo, never got to see the funny gap. I'll have to check it out before I start modding. I was looking at changing the lower left section out with another sub par bezel but can't qhite decide. What year and model is your cd player from? Looks good!
