Front shocks on rear?
I read someplace that the front shocks on a 64 would work on the rear with 4 inch lower coils. I measured them , and it looks like they may work. Has anyone tried this?

Re: Front shocks on rear?
oh, yeah. shocks are shocks... for the most part. There is a quality difference though.
Just make sure the compressed and extended height are within your range and go for it. Measure eye to eye at ride height, then account for 2-4" in compression travel and you should be good. Boucher'

Re: Front shocks on rear?
Yep eye bushing mounts on both ends...you just need to make sure the ride height is at the midway travel of the shock. The rear shocks on my truck now are actually shorter than the OE length front shocks.

Re: Front shocks on rear?
I used front shocks on my lowered/flipped leaf and 9" rear. I think front shocks are set up for more weight and different calving for weight transfer but it rides great. Much better than the air shocks which was why I did it after buying new lowered front shocks. At least for the time being it's worth it.
