What does motor and trans weigh?

I have a 383 stroker motor with a TH400. Can anyone tell me what they weigh. Fixing to be installing the motor/trans as one unit. Just want to make sure I don't excede the weight limit of my engine hoist.
Thanks for any help.

Re: What does motor and trans weigh?

If I recall, an SBC is around 450 and a 400 ~100 so chances are you're ok.
As always a web search of sbc weight and th400 weight would result in an immediate answer.
