60-62 front ball bearing conversion

My new daily driver is a 60 Apache 10. While working on the brakes I decided to use some spare front brake drums off my 62 C-10. Looks like the po of the 62 converted the ball bearings to roller bearings. Question, can I swap the hubs from the 62 to the 60? The only difference I noted was a cup spot welded around the 60 backing plate. Can I swap the backing plates and hub from the 62 to the 60? My goal is to get the roller bearings and drums that are in good shape. My 60 drums are gone. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Runningiron

Re: 60-62 front ball bearing conversion

after you are done you still have a torsion bar front end. Did you ever price ball joints for one? What I do is swap the whole crossmember out for a 63 up unit. and if you get a 73 up you will have a 5 hole disk brake front end.

Old Truck Man, I appreciate your reply. I thought about possibly later installing a 73-87 frontend. Thanks
